Can employees exist without login accounts?

Yes. Create or import employee records, then separately invite users when needed.

What happens when a device is offline?

Missing events are incomplete information. Workniva does not infer absence or deduct salary from an outage.

Does this process payments?

No. Billing is manual/sandbox, and salary preparation does not initiate transfers or calculate unvalidated statutory deductions.

Does the assistant need an API key?

Yes, for model and transcription features. Ordinary attendance, leave, reports and office workflows work without AI.
